Weekly Reflection 2

Image
Looking back at my second week of senior project, I am feeling more than accomplished. Regarding my capstone, this was a tough week, the hard part is over though! I am done with my 26 page paper! My fellow concentration girls and I (Olivia, Ayla, Emily) worked every single day with one another in the library. I made an effort to go to breakfast and park myself in the library by 9am every day. My paper requirement was a minimum of 15 pages, I exceeded that. Each day, I set goals for myself, and had lots of appointments with various "mentors" for help on my writing and idea formulation. This kept me motivated. All I have left is my reflection paper (ten pages, doubled spaced). On the horizon, I have my exit interview with the concentration committee on Wednesday. I am another step closer to the finish line. My annotated bibliography is also complete. Now that the weather is warm, I hope to escape the library and spend more time with friends outside. Thanks for tuning in on my b

Today I sat in the library. I arrived at 8am. I worked independently until lunch. After that, I went to lunch. Then I ate lunch. Later I returned to the library to work more. All I am doing is typing. I am done with paper. 26 pages. After my library day, I headed to swinging bridge. I went swimming. Then, I went to dinner. Can't wait for tomorrow. Good night. KP

Today I sat in the library. I arrived at 8am. I worked independently until my meeting with Kristen at 10am. After that, I went to lunch. Then I ate lunch. Later I returned to the library to work more. All I am doing is typing. I am almost done with my paper... or so I think. After my usual library day, I headed to practice. I hit tennis balls at practice. Then, we went for ice cream. Can't wait for tomorrow.  KP

Dearest reader, Today, I started my Wednesday with an iced coffee from the dining hall. I went to breakfast so I would be motivated to start my day. I had a meeting with my mentor Tom to go over my capstone paper. We worked hard to reconfigure parapgraphs and organize the work I already have. He had to run to a class, but I remained in the library for the rest of the afternoon to grind out the remaining work. I was glad to have a break to head up to the tennis courts for practice. It was super nice out today (and so freeing without masks!). Since it was so warm and sunny, Mel took us to Elbow Pond to swim and cool off!  Later tonight I am going to work on my annotated bibliography. Can't wait to get these pieces out of the way.  KP

Today was a productive day. I started my day with coffee from jakes. I met up with Olivia and Ayla to go support Emily's concentration public demonstration during advisory. She killed it. After, I met with my mentor Tom Morgan. We had a thorough check in on my paper. Unfortunately, I still have a lot of work to do on my paper. We are going to be working together for the rest of the week to rework and organize my draft for the committee to read. Once that is done, my annotated bibliography and analytical exit paper will be due. I am feeling anxious to get this whole project finished. I am going to feel very accomplished and happy to have success.  Can't wait to hit the library tomorrow! KP

Good evening, Today was a mellow day. My morning started at 730am. I rolled out of bed to hit the dining hall before meeting up with my friends in the library. In the library I worked on my public demonstration. My public demonstration was a google slides created for Sue Houston's APES class. It was about climate refugees during Katrina and my family's strory. Once I finished it and practiced a bit, I headed to D Block to present my work. My delivery went great, and my audience was great. After that, I went to lunch. Then, it was time for work on annotated bibliography. That will be due on Wednesday, so I still got five pages to crank out. My day was pretty uneventful and slow. Hope tomorrow will be fun. Here is a picture of Birgit and I working on our blogs. KP

Looking back at my first week of senior project, I am feeling more than accomplished. Regarding my capstone, this was the busiest week, the hard part is over. My fellow concentration girls and I (Olivia, Ayla, Emily) worked every single day with one another in the library. I made an effort to go to breakfast and park myself in the library by 9am every day. My paper requirement was a minimum of 15 pages, I exceeded 23. Each day, I set goals for myself, and had lots of appointments with various "mentors" for help on my writing and idea formulation.  This kept me motivated. My paper, on Hurricane Katrina, is something I am passionate about, and found endless interest and way too much research on. I am proud of my perseverance to continue working each day, even when I was so mentally exhausted. I have never written a paper this large and extensive. Prior to starting it, I was super intimidated, but through the process, I have learned a lot.  On the horizon, I have my public demon
