Weekly Reflection 2


Looking back at my second week of senior project, I am feeling more than accomplished. Regarding my capstone, this was a tough week, the hard part is over though! I am done with my 26 page paper! My fellow concentration girls and I (Olivia, Ayla, Emily) worked every single day with one another in the library. I made an effort to go to breakfast and park myself in the library by 9am every day. My paper requirement was a minimum of 15 pages, I exceeded that. Each day, I set goals for myself, and had lots of appointments with various "mentors" for help on my writing and idea formulation. This kept me motivated. All I have left is my reflection paper (ten pages, doubled spaced).


On the horizon, I have my exit interview with the concentration committee on Wednesday. I am another step closer to the finish line. My annotated bibliography is also complete. Now that the weather is warm, I hope to escape the library and spend more time with friends outside. Thanks for tuning in on my blogs all week (even though I have zero views on every single one ;)).  Hello! Successful day of concentration work. I started my day in the dining hall for senior breakfast. After, I headed to the library to meet up with my fellow concentration gang. For the whole morning I sat in the library conference room and worked on finalzing my writing and organizing the formatting of my paper. I also interviewed a family friend to get some inspirational quotes to reference in my paper. By the end of the day I have a total of 21 pages! WOWZA!! I am going to spend Thursday and Friday working through revisions and completing one last interview. I hope to be done with my whole paper by Friday morning! Yay! TTYL  Kingsley

Weekly Reflection

Looking back at my first week of senior project, I am feeling more than accomplished. Regarding my capstone, this was the busiest week, the hard part is over. My fellow concentration girls and I (Olivia, Ayla, Emily) worked every single day with one another in the library. I made an effort to go to breakfast and park myself in the library by 9am every day. My paper requirement was a minimum of 15 pages, I exceeded 23. Each day, I set goals for myself, and had lots of appointments with various "mentors" for help on my writing and idea formulation.  This kept me motivated. My paper, on Hurricane Katrina, is something I am passionate about, and found endless interest and way too much research on. I am proud of my perseverance to continue working each day, even when I was so mentally exhausted. I have never written a paper this large and extensive. Kingsley Palmer's Concentration

 First day of Senior Project 2021! Wahoo! My day started at 8:30 am this morning. My anticipation was through the roof as I jumped out of bed to hop in the shower and get ready for my day of Academic Concentration! I met up with my fellow hardworking AC students to get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee from Jakes. After, we decided that it might be nice to work outside on the sally porch and plan out our day. We quickly realized it was a little too brisk and windy to work outside, so we relocated to the library conference room.  My first task for myself was to create a schedule for the next two weeks. Laying out all my deadlines and due dates. After, I wrote four pages of my 15 page paper, as well as worked through revisions from my mentor Tom Morgan, I shared my document with a peer to look over.  I enjoyed working with Emily, Ayla, and Olivia, we were able to help and motivate each other.  Looking forward to another productive day tomorrow!
